Min says inflation in Russia seen at 0.4–0.5% on month Nov–Dec
MOSCOW, Nov 9 (PRIME) – The Russian consumer price inflation index is forecasted at 0.4–0.5% in monthly terms in November–December and at 3.7–3.8% in annual terms, if the current rate of the ruble remains, according to a report released by the Economic Development Ministry on Friday.
“In October, inflation accelerated to 3.5% on the year from 3.4% on the year in September. If the ruble remains at the current level in the remaining months, inflation on the consumer market will stay at approximately the October level on the retail market (0.4–0.5% on the month). Annually, the consumer price growth will accelerate in November and December to 3.7–3.8%,” the ministry said.
The latest 2018 inflation forecast by the ministry stands at 3.4% but might reach 3.7–3.9% if the ruble remains at the current level, according to earlier statements by ministry officials.
